Legislature Passes Bill Preparing Oregon for Possible Interstate Cannabis Sales

A bill that would set Oregon up to participate in the sale of cannabis products across state lines, once the federal government allows it, passed the Oregon House Tuesday with bipartisan support.

"The surplus of cannabis products we have in our state proves that without even trying we can supply a market far bigger than the local one here in Oregon," Rep. Rob Nosse, D-Portland, said on the House floor. "We're ready to go, all we need is for the feds to get out of the way and for us to pass this bill."

The bill now heads to Gov. Kate Brown for her signature. She has said she supports the legislation.
